This Talapatra by Abakash Nayak of Raghurajpur depicts Kalki, the prophesied final avatar of Vishnu, mounted in full ceremonial armor upon a leaping horse. The image draws from deep within the Puranic tradition, rendering an eschatological moment with the visual precision and devotional intensity that define the Raghurajpur school. Executed on joined palm leaf strips using a metal stylus and natural inks, every element figure, ornament, flora, and border is engraved by hand.
