Suna Vesha

Suna Vesha depicts the three presiding deities of Puri - Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra in their most revered ceremonial adornment, a moment of profound ritual significance observed at the Jagannath Temple on rare sacred dates. Painted by Sridhar Nayak of Raghurajpur, Odisha, this Pattachitra is executed on handmade cloth canvas using pigments ground from stone and natural substances. The composition moves between monochrome precision and gold-toned warmth, with selective red accents anchoring the expressive, large-format faces of the deities. Authenticated and sourced directly from the living craft village of Raghurajpur, this work carries both devotional depth and exceptional technical rigour.
